- L-Port: Only connects two orthogonal flow paths (e.g., A→B or A→C) for direction switching, unable to connect all three ports simultaneously (e.g., refrigerant flow switching in cooling systems).
- T-Port: Can connect all three ports to enable diversion (one inlet, two outlets) or confluence (two inlets, one outlet) (e.g., chemical batching mixing, food material distribution).
